Step 1: Prepare Your Scan Station PC

The PC that you use for processing images (also called the scan station) needs to have the following installed:

Windows NT 4 SP1; Windows 2000; or Windows XP.
256K of RAM
150 Mb free hard drive space.

Step 2: Install & Configure Your Scanner

Before you install ELAN Capture, you must install and configure your scanning software. Each scanner has its own software drivers that instruct your computer how to receive image information from this device. When you purchased your scanner, software and instructions should have been included. If you cannot find these items or you have questions about this process, you need to contact the vendor from whom you purchased your scanner.

Step 3: Install ELAN Capture

1.Exit any programs that you may have running.
2.Insert the ELAN Capture CD into the CD drive of your scan station.
3.Double-click on the setup.exe file.
4.The first screen will ask you for a code to unlock the product. It will also provide you with an identification number for your computer. Send this identification number to your Elan representative by email to have the unlock key sent back to you.
5.Once it arrives, re-launch the setup program, enter the unock key, and click OK.
6.The setup program will guide you through the rest. Simply read the instructions and indicate your choices.

If you have trouble with the installation process, please do not hesitate to contact your Elan representative.
