The Job Tree

When you scan batches of documents, you can quickly have ELAN Capture recognize where each document begins and ends. You can also have ELAN Capture recognize the start of a chapter, a sub-section, or simply bookmark a significant page. Then, these sections images can be arranged in a hierarchy. When the images are saved to file, the separations can indicate where ELAN Capture should create a new file or where a chapter or other type of bookmark should be indicated in the index.

The Scan Panel

ELAN Capture allows you to build a list of images in any order you choose: insert, replace and append images wherever you choose. You can also indicate image correction settings that will crop and rotate your images as they appear in your image tree. The scan settings can be adjusted everytime you insert a new batch of documents to be scanned or you have the same scan settings applied for every batch. Overall, you have a great deal of flexibility in how your images are brought into the application to maximize your productivity and image accuracy.

The Indexer

The index information, like a set of library index cards, helps you find the document after you have filed it. ELAN Capture provides a quick way for you to enter index information for each document - you can even cut and paste index information from your image. This information is then saved with the document for quick retrieval later.

Image Correction

ELAN Capture provides a pallette of powerful automated and manual tools to help you correct your image with speed and precision. For example, you can have ELAN Capture automatically deskew all your images; or, if you prefer, you can deskew them manually. The despeckle tool will detect and remove speckles of the precise dimension you indicate.

Conversion to File

Once you have scanned, indexed and corrected your images to your satisfaction, you can save them to file. ELAN Capture enables you to leverage the rich functionality of the Adobe® Portable Document Format platform.

Publish to CD

ELAN Capture includes a utility that simplifies publishing your documents to CD. You choose the files you want to include on the CD and ELAN Capture includes files that help the user browse through the CD images quickly and easily.
