Black and white color space of a file. Binary, because one pixel can only have the values "0" or "1", which will be interpreted as white or black (or just the other way, depending on the value of the most significant bit (msb) value. Common file formats and compression for scanned documents are TIFF G4 or JEDMICS . JBIG2 is newer compression type. This format is the most popular format for text and drawing scans.
